Description

Pinioned:
One of the fastest and most dangerous entities I have encountered thus far, they are named Pinioned for their bird like appearance and their lack of complete wings, allegedly hidden in their large cloths that cover the majority of their feathery bodies. The largest one I've seen was at least 15 feet tall and are rarely found indoors. The sounds they make are quite intimidating, from whispering dialects to groaning and bloodcurdling screams.

On it's back lies a bed frame that tightly holds together the dirty cloth that covers the creature's avian body, and it's pale face is that of a sleeping humanoid with a beak-like nose. It's long feathery legs that bear talons; scrapes the ground at every step taken and the creature also seem to have large arms hidden inside it's cloth. They behave rather passive and sluggish at first, slowly walking when beginning to peruse it's prey. However when a pinioned becomes more aggressive, it's arms will emerge from inside it's cloth, and then it will crawl rapidly on all fours, behaving more like an insect than a bird. It is very difficult to outrun them when they begin to crawl so they must be taken with extreme caution.

They usually attack with their talons, when crawling however, they use their beaks to impale or phase trough their victims. Upon closer observation, their palms appear to bear mouths, which they also use to attack while crawling.

Symbolism:
From my understanding they seems to share similar meanings with the coma husks, being an embodiment of comatose people or even people who are bedridden for other reasons; hence the bed frames that are fused on their backs and the fact that they have sleeping humanoid faces. The dirty cloth that covers their avian bodies appears to be of the same fabric as that of gauze, making it evident for them to be reminiscent towards patients. They also appear to have some kind of dirty white cloth tied around their necks like a scarf, it is possible for it to be their silver cord, commonly associated with astral projection or out of body experiences. The silver cord being a connection with the mind and body, if severed the mind would lose its way back to it's body, hence the comatose.

Overall their birdlike appearance can be symbolic to freedom but since their wings are presumably pinioned, it may very well represent the opposite of freedom.
