Shackled by flesh

 A stake is impaled unto the crescent masks that are worn by them, to seal away a heavy sin within. Shackled with flesh, it's melded hands are branded with a hole; were something slithers inside that has been corroded. 

Could it be that they were once something pure and it is now swallowed or destroyed? Perhaps they were once something that is now fallen, for their wings are plucked, unable to sore to the skies, unable to reach the heavens. Only hover helplessly against a weight that becomes heavier with every second in existence.

With no feet, they cannot run, they cannot escape a fate of great punishment; for an unknown sin that has permanently stained any purity they had.
